Kuwait chosen as the Capital of Islamic culture

Kuwait's selection as member in an advisory board of Culture Ministers of Islamic countries' council reflects the country's "cultural, civilized and humane weight”.

"This selection will contribute to the development of cooperation and coordination among Islamic countries in the fields of culture, science and art, and will help in confronting challenges facing the Islamic world and its culture”. Ministers underlined importance of developing cultural cooperation and coordination mechanisms to convey the "genuine image of Islamic culture, which carries a message of peace, love, tolerance, accepting the others, as well as rejection of extremism and terrorism."

Shaikh Salman said the ministers commended Kuwait's Islamic culture moderation policy, which was adopted upon instructions of His Highness the Amir. He said Kuwait invited the cultural ministers to participate in next year's celebrations to mark the selection of Kuwait as the Islamic Cultural Capital.
