Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9)
The Secondary Curriculum covers Years 7, 8 and 9 – the first three years of secondary education at Oxford Academy. All subjects at this Key Stage are compulsory, and all students will study:
- Art and Design
- Coordinated Science
- English (Language and Literature)
- Information and Communication Technology
- Islamic Studies
- Physical Education
- Social Studies
The curriculum and methodology we use is based on the requirements of the National Curriculum for England and Wales, (www.gov.uk/national-curriculum/overview) commonly known as the British Curriculum, with some modifications recognising that we are a school in the Middle East. Students will sit two exams per year (December and May/June). Students will be tested on their knowledge and understanding of the subject material that they have learnt over a period of time. Targets are set based on this information.
